Pin The Tail On The Donkey

One surefire approach to infuse laughter into a childs party is to have them play "pin the tail on the donkey".

A child is handed the tail of a donkey, and is blindfolded. The child is escorted just a few steps from a a large tailess donkey that is posted on a wall. Just before the child can take its first step, the child is spun around several times~~~ and then is instructed to attach the tail!

As an adult, I muse how we all still play that game! We see our goals so clearly, we know how and what we must do... In our hands we hold the piece that will complete the picture! Yet, before we take a step, we are blindfolded by our selfishness, and spun aroun around by our emotions...and are left to wander aimlessly towards our target!

Like those children I must laugh, seeing how close I am ....and yet, through my own procrastinations, it is I who ends up wearing the tail!

To all, Have a Marvelous 2005 and hope that your tail winds up on the right donkey!

WOW! Very impressive writing. It's ironic that you wrote about Pin The Tail On the Donkey and how it pertains to our adult lives. I was thinking the same thought this morning {only not as elegantly as you have described here. I was a little on the cranky side, lol}. But none the less, the same thought. I'm looking forward to more entries!!! ~Ann : )

Wow.  Love this one too.  WONDERFUL analogy...the tail and how we wear it.  That's EXACTLY where I've been in.  Wow. ;)  C.  http://journals.aol.com/gdireneoe/thedailies
